Melody Finnegan Melody and her husband Sean, have been married for 20+ years and have 7 children, all of whom have attended the Greenhouse. They enjoy community and global outreach initiatives at their home church, Willow Wheaton. Melody received dual degree in education, and taught at Evangel Christian School in Queens, NY. She came to realize how deeply intertwined character development can be with education in a homeschool setting - especially with a classical approach. So she began the "hard, crazy, messy, lovely journey that is home education."

Tom Spacek, Executive Director As the co-founder and first Headmaster of The Greenhouse, Tom Spacek has been championing the mission and shepherding the vision since the turn of the century! Described by some as a Renaissance man, Tom has always been a self-learner, despite not having been home-schooled himself! A graduate of Emmaus Bible College, he has been serving various congregations and ministries for over 30 years. Many believe that Tom embodies the servant leadership ideal to which we call our students. He and Jennifer have worked together at The Greenhouse since its launch, during which time they have also raised their four children, two of whom still attend. The Spaceks live in Wheaton, four doors away from the building, and worship at Church of the Resurrection.

Steve Wiper, President Steve and his wife Robin were drawn to homeschooling through the beauty of the family dynamics they saw in other God-centered, home school families.  They have been homeschooling since 2010, and all four of their kids have attended the Greenhouse.  The classical education approach, and the weekly day of instruction at the Greenhouse has provided a framework for the rest of the homeschool activities.  The opportunities for the students to express themselves, and what they've learned, through a variety of vehicles, has revealed their developing character in ways not readily available in other school settings. The Wipers worship at College Church in Wheaton, and Steve is an IT Director at the corporate office for Hyatt Hotels in Chicago.
