IEW Writing

These structured courses utilize Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) materials to build confidence and proficiency in all types of writing: fiction, non-fiction, playwriting and poetry. The method allows the teacher to address individual needs while moving the group through a series of literature based units.  The outlining, keywording and organizational skills taught in the courses serve both written and oral presentations. Developing structure, style and voice will be emphasized. Students self-evaluate homework via provided rubrics and the teacher provides feedback as well.  Instructor:  Margaret Philbrick
