… each member of the circle feels, in his secret heart, humbled before all the rest… each bringing out all that is best, wisest, or funniest in all the others.
— C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

In the spirit of the Inklings, the famous literary fellowship of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, this Rhetoric level class will discuss literature, share creative writing drafts, and encourage one another in Christian community. This supportive and inspiring literary workshop will alternate between comfortably paced lit circles and creative writing workshops, engaging students’ hearts and imaginations. Four different Inklings courses are offered, one each year; students may profitably repeat the course up to four times. Each year has a specific focus and different books are used. Some years Inklings is a co-ed class, other years it is for girls only.   Instructor:  Becky Michel
