Imagine the impact…
…of students who know how to learn for themselves, and who have been trained to lead people by serving.
…of students who have experience in building community and who are aware of needs of those around them.
…of students who have experienced the power of prayer and who live in relationships that are marked by honesty?
Can you imagine it? Picture your son, or your daughter. It can all start with a child. At Greenhouse, we absolutely believe that. And we have seen it.
Do you want your children to thrive?
It is a simple question. And you would not be reading this if you weren't seeking to discover the best education for your children and your family. But what does it mean to thrive?
Philosophers use the term "the good life" to describe thriving. The answer to the question "What is the good life?" drives our model of eduction. The Bible proclaims that our lives have meaning in and through Christ the perfect man. We believe that outside of Christ there is no good life.
From a Judeo-Christian perspective, when our loves or affections are properly ordered – seeking to be conformed to the image of Christ, we can thrive. We believe there is truth to seek, goodness to nurture, and beauty to receive. These transcendentals are real … sourced in God Himself … reflected in creation. And when our children's loves and affections are properly ordered, they will thrive. Our teachers value academics greatly, but more importantly they seek to partner with parents to shepherding children’s hearts.

Birthed in Prayer
Out of much prayer Tom and Jennifer Spacek began to envision a learning environment that cared about character as much as academics; that valued a parents role as God ordained shepherd of their children's hearts and minds and believed passionately in a community that would work together to create a place that enhanced and supported homeschool families. On September 12, 2001 with 35 students (20 families) and 5 faculty that vision became a reality.
You can expect more than just academics in Greenhouse's classrooms. Because we are committed to taking every opportunity available to shepherd students' hearts and teach them to respond with integrity and compassion, our goal is to support you in shaping character. We believe that Christians ought to be marked by Christ-like character - loving others and God first, treating people with respect and seeking always to do what is right. It is the reason we have a trained faculty and not just volunteers. Why we use a classical framework and a purposeful curriculum.

An education model so unique we invented a new word to describe it – co-schooling
Greenhouse Christian Co-School, based in the western suburbs of Chicago (Wheaton, IL), serves families all across the suburbs of Chicago. Serving grades 1 through 12 , our core program provides in-person learning one day a week and our elective classes include a variety of enrichment opportunities.
Celebrating 20 years in 2021, Greenhouse comes alongside homeschool families, providing experiential academic and social opportunities, designed to build virtue. We call this “co-schooling.” If your family is striving to raise servant leaders, and is looking for thriving academics in a nurturing community. We would love to welcome your family to our community – learn more about our admissions process, and join us for an upcoming Open House.
Co-School | n.
[ koh • skool ]
an educational institution which partners with homeschooling families to provide group instruction in specific curricula utilizing a professional faculty
Properly accomplished, co-schooling provides students with a better education than they could otherwise receive either in a traditional school setting or exclusively in their home schools. The "co-" is all-important. Co-school teachers partner with parents for the sake of the students. Parents partner with co-school teachers and other co-schooling families for the sake of the students. When all the key ingredients coalesce, a full-bodied, life-giving education is possible.
Whether you are considering homeschooling or are a veteran homeschool family – increase the value of your homeschool
The Greenhouse provides core programs and elective courses designed to build upon what you are doing at home. Students enrolled in the Greenhouse core program:
Spend one full school day per week in a classroom setting, study with classmates, and receive a framework for working at home throughout the week.
Participate in a number of large-scale events during the year, including our annual science fair, play, art show and living wax museum.
Receive consistent opportunity to develop as servant leaders and deepen their own faith, as well as making lasting friendships with like-minded students.
In addition, we offer a wide variety of elective courses that provide fun and challenging options to supplement your student's education. Whether or not your student is in our core program, there is a wealth of interesting options for just about anyone.
