About
A private education model so unique we invented a new word to describe it –
co-schooling
Greenhouse Christian Co-School, based in the western suburbs of Chicago (Wheaton, IL), serves families all across the suburbs of Chicago. Serving grades 1 through 12 , our core program provides in-person learning one day a week and our elective classes include a variety of enrichment opportunities.
Celebrating 20 years in 2021, Greenhouse comes alongside homeschool families to provide experiential academic and social opportunities designed to build virtue. We call this “co-schooling.”
If your family is striving to raise servant leaders and is looking for thriving academics in a nurturing community, we would love to welcome your family. Learn more about our admissions process and join us for an upcoming Open House.
A Foundation of Prayer
Out of much prayer, Tom and Jennifer Spacek began to envision a learning environment that cared about character as much as academics. A place that valued a parent’s role as God-ordained shepherd of their children's hearts and minds. A community that believed passionately in working together to create a place that enhanced and supported homeschool families. On September 12, 2001, with 35 students from 20 families and 5 faculty, that vision became a reality.
Our goal is to support you in shaping character. You can expect more than just academics in Greenhouse's classrooms. Our trained faculty (not volunteers), classical framework, and curriculum utilize every opportunity available to shepherd students' hearts and teach them to respond with integrity and compassion.
Prayer is still the foundation of all we do. Our faculty pray together daily and we set aside time each year for the community to pray for God’s leading and blessing of all we do.
Whether you are considering homeschooling or are a veteran homeschool family – create a private education as unique as your family
Greenhouse provides core programs and elective courses designed to build upon what you are doing at home. Students enrolled in the Greenhouse core program:
Spend one full school day per week in a classroom setting, study with classmates, and receive a framework for working at home throughout the week.
Participate in a number of large-scale events during the year, including our annual Science Fair, Play, Art Show and Living Wax Museum.
Receive consistent opportunity to develop as servant leaders and deepen their own faith, as well as making lasting friendships with like-minded students.
In addition, we offer a wide variety of elective courses that provide fun and challenging options to supplement your student's education. Whether or not your student is in our core program, there is a wealth of interesting options for just about anyone.
