Camping Skills Camp (June)

Preparing for outdoor adventures!

Monday through Friday, 1:00-3:00 pm

Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12

This summer, equip your high schooler for a lifetime of confident, Christ-centered adventure.

Camping Skills Camp is an immersive five-day experience designed to introduce and strengthen foundational outdoor skills. Whether your student is brand-new to camping, or preparing for the full 14-week Outdoor Adventure Skills course in the fall, or wanting more practice, this camp serves as a meaningful sample, primer, and practical training ground.

Drawing on Mr. Dominguez’s 30 years experience leading adventures, from sea level to 14,000 feet, students will gain hands-on proficiency in:

  • Rope craft

  • Fire building and tending

  • Campsite selection and shelter setup

  • Campfire and camp stove cooking

Beyond technical skills, student will grow in Kingdom fellowship and servant leadership through discipleship, group discussion, and collaborative activities. Emphasizing adventure philosophy, safety, stewardship, and creation care, this camp helps form capable, resilient young leaders, who will be prepared to confidently serve on outdoor adventures with competence and joy.

This camp is limited to 12 students.

Lord of the Rings Skills Camp (June)

Middle Earth, Maps & Metaphors

Monday through Friday, 9:00-11:00 am

Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12

Invite your students on an unforgettable journey through Middle Earth this summer with a camp inspired by The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Campers will blend creativity and critical thinking in the spirit of Tolkien’s concept of “applicability” as they create detailed, take-home epic maps tracing the Fellowship’s journey—from the Shire to Mordor and back again. Along the way, students will explore the geography, culture, and the epic paths of Tolkien’s heroes while engaging in hands-on trail marking and metaphor-making through large-scale collaborative map projects.

Through literary discussions, participants will dive into themes of friendship, courage, sacrifice, language, and epic storytelling. Designed especially for high school learners, this camp weaves together art, literature, film, fun, fellowship, and collaborative learning. The result? A meaningful adventure that brings this beloved classic to life — for life!

This camp is limited to 12 students.

Musical Theater Camp (July)

Pulling it Together: Singing, Acting, Dancing

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays ONLY.

Showcase Performance: Friday, July 17 at 2:30 pm

Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 17

Together, we will grow in our understanding of the intricate workings of what makes up musical theater with focal points on acting, singing and dancing to tell a story, perform a piece and give God the glory. Even though every individual brings something different, EVERYONE will have an opportunity to use their talents to benefit the good of the group in a final showcase. As a result, participants are expected to practice at home.

Students will take a deep dive into the intricate workings of singing, acting and dancing. They will learn proper dance technique and terminology for common dance moves used in theater (turns, jumps, and choreography in unison across the floor). In acting, they will learn how to interpret a character and share with an audience.

All of the effort will culminate in a combined Showcase Performance for family and friends on the final Friday afternoon of the camp.

  • Section 1 is for students entering grades 4-7.

  • Section 2 is for students entering Grades 8-12, and is also open to students who were in the senior cohorts graduating in May 2026

  • Homework: 15-30 minutes of practice at home each day.

Believing Song

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays ONLY.

Monday, June 1 – Wednesday, June 10

This camp is exclusively for students who have experience in Writers Workshop.

Come share your gifts to inspire and equip servant leaders. We want to include your voice!

Collaborate with other experienced students to write and publish Believing Song, our 14th book in the Greenhouse Servant Leadership Series. Working through our writing process, each student will contribute one “final copy” personification poem to our book. Each page of Believing Song will feature one student's poem.

Each day of camp will conclude with a Lit Circle discussing the Gospel of John.  (No Lit Circle experience required.)

Mrs. Michel will host our book signing and poetry reading (optional) in August.

  • Homework: Pre-writing, a reading, and a role will be assigned before the summer session and is required for the first class Wednesday, May 27 . 60-90 minutes to prepare for each day of camp

Buy the book: Families will be able to order the Believing Song book which the students produce for about $22. These are beautiful 11X8 hardcover books, which look and feel very much like a library book. (Click to view Summer Camp 2024 Consideration Song online.)
